Spring Wildflowers

I was hiking a few days ago and couldn't help but pick just a few wildflowers. I wanted to bring them home and see how they did in a vase. I am happy to report that the nasturtium (pictured above) lasted well over a week in my little vase. You can grow these pretty flowers from seed that have leaves that look like lily pads out of water. The blooms are edible too and taste really spicy.

I also picked a few lupine stalks. These purple flowers continued to grow in the vase and lasted over a week as well. While I don't encourage picking wildflowers, know that these last a long time in a vase and can be grown in your own garden where you can pick away!
