DIY - Bridal Bouquet - by the Groom!

We all have heard the trends of Brides and their Bridal teams taking on their own flowers. We at Flower Duet support it, encourage it and teach it. I had the pleasure last month of working this at a bit of a different angle. The Groom, who had been to the mart and bought and arranged flowers for his Fiancee in the past, had advised me that he would like to make his bride's bouquet. To me, this represented True Love. The Princess Bride kind of True Love. I would be handling all the other aspects of florals for this lovely couple's wedding, but Ash was to handle the bouquet. So instead of me pulling together a mock up, a month before the wedding I simply gathered and prepped the flowers that were decided upon, and taught Ash, the Groom how to create a Hand-Tied Bouquet. He being an engineer could easily comprehend the placement and the technique that goes into this type of arrangement, which he was able to handle with great ease. We used Vendela Roses, Mini Callas, Magnolia Leaves and Italian Ruscus. Ash returned to our design studio the morning before the wedding, where he repeated his earlier performance with great confidence and joy and even ahead of schedule. Picture above is his mock up and 1st lesson! Nice work Ash!
