Last week my college roommate Lisa was in Los Angeles for business. She was staying at the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica. A very hip place to stay. I had made some deliveries of peony arrangement for some guests of Chanel a while back. As I pulled up, I wondered what sort of flower arrangements they might have in the Reception area. To my delight I found a thoughtful amount and well placed white Phalaenopsis Orchid plants. They are elegant and classy, and available for purchase more places than ever. If you are in the Los Angeles area - head down to the Flower District. Both Tropical USA and GM Floral have a wonderful collection for great prices. Buy the ones that have 1 or 2 bloom open and the rest still closed. Look for a plant that has two stems, instead of just one and lastly, but sure the base greenery is full, firm and not yellow.
